THE MARRIAGE PUZZLE   .    October Series

Marriage is a hot topic today. But what is it, really? How does it work? Is it worth keeping in our cultural family’s future? A poignant conundrum states, “There are things we know that we know; there are things that we know we don’t know; but there are also things we don’t know we don’t know.” Those unknown unknowns are where Jesus invites us to meet him in the marriage puzzle, helping us see that with marriage perhaps we don’t know what we don’t know. The Bible calls marriage “a profound mystery.” Jesus describes it as a gift of God full of creative meaning and transcendent possibility waiting to be engaged.  In our new series, The Marriage Puzzle, we’re not trying to make your marriage better, though that may happen. We’re not trying to help heal hurts from your past, though God can. And we’re not trying to get you married if you’re single, though God has been known to surprise us. What we are pursuing is inspired insight from Jesus on God’s beautiful picture of marriage that so often puzzles us.

    Begun in 1926 directly across the street from the University of Miami, Our church was born as a dream that would unite this city and the world under the grace of a loving God. A resilient group of people faithfully pursued this life with eternal meaning and impact. After a devastating hurricane in 1926, We were rebuilt. Our people have been growing stronger ever since.

    We are a diverse community of imperfect people seeking out the perfect God. The God who is within reach. We are followers of His Son, Jesus Christ, and want our lives to have an eternal influence on our families, in Miami, and the world. We welcome people from all walks of life, regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey and hope to develop real relationships that last. We want to be marked by our love and the beautiful montage of God’s distinctive work in each of our lives.

    We are on mission in 39 countries. Caring for people with HIV AIDS, Educating the illiterate, clothing & feeding the under-resourced, building churches schools and medical facilities, funding orphanages, delivering children out of prostitution, providing disaster relief, bringing the Gospel to unreached and hostile areas of the world. Serving the city of Miami through our local mission partnerships.

    Everyone has a story – a unique story that goes to the center of who you are and why God designed a place for you on this earth. A story he wants to infuse with His love and grace. Our church is a composition of stories. We hope that you would begin this chapter of your spiritual journey with us, that you would connect in real relationships with others, and that you would live the story God is writing for you.
