Check out this email we received from Vivian Coelho about the Neigborhood Block Party she will be throwing this weekend!

We’re very excited!  I saw the email from UBC and I thought, why not?  So I passed around some fliers saying that I wanted to organize a block party, I had a meeting by the community pool with families, we got organized and now we’re ready to hang up our posters so that all the residents can join us.  So many of the moms told me how they didn’t know anyone, and their kids didn’t have any friends.  Imagine that…what a great opportunity, right?

I’ll take pictures and let you guys know how it goes, thanks to UBC for the idea!

This is an email we got from a parent:

Just wanted to tell about what my daughter did that I thought was exceptional. Her birthday in November 20, and she asked me to use the money for her birthday party and gift to buy food for the Feed Miami initiative. I’m so proud of her, this is the first time she has done anything like this. She likes to help, but typically using someone else’s resources, this is the first time that she actually gave up something that was truly important to her. I’m so proud of her.
