UBC SPICE

Eat a fantastic meal, meet new friends, & help send UBC’ers to Ecuador! UBC Spice is back. We are still looking for hosts to open up their home, purchase & prepare food, & welcome UBC’ers into your home. Would your group be interested in creating one of our UBC Spice ‘restaurants’ for one night in either of the last two weekends of June? If you are not able to host, we would still love you to participate by purchasing a ticket at one of the restaurants.  Tickets ($15-$40) will go on sale beginning in June, email alison.bisesi@ubcmiami.org for more information on hosting or tickets.

HAVANA NIGHT We hope you all plan to attend the Havana Night Cuba Fundraiser on June 15 (click here for details & to purchase tickets). We are also looking for groups to sponsor and prepare beautiful themed baskets to raise funds at the silent auction & raffle. Some ideas for baskets are: Coffee/Tea basket, Cuban themed foods, Fancy Chocolates, A Day at the Beach basket, etc… If your group is interested in doing this please email groups@ubcmiami.org.

Groups Launch Week of Jan. 29

Dear Group Leaders,

It’s that time of year again, our JANUARY GROUPS LAUNCH is here! And this time, to help others connect to Groups we’re trying a different promotion method, but we need your help!

As you know, Groups are where you can experience spiritual growth through Bible study & prayer. But Groups are also a great place to do life together in community. And we’ve found that most members currently connected to Groups, joined a Group through a personal invitation from someone they already know.

So here’s where you come in the picture… Who can you invite to join your Group? Do people know you’re in a Group? How can you help someone new connect?

This week you should be receiving “Im in a Group” stickers. And for the month of January, we’re asking all group members and leaders to wear these stickers to the weekend services. We’ve sent you (the Group leader) 10-12 stickers so you can give your Group and share with them about what’s going on. (Don’t worry, they can also pass by the welcome table and pick up another sticker in case they forget it at home.)

Hopefully you’ve benefited from being in a Group. Whether you’ve developed friendships, celebrated life together, or received help and support through though times, now it’s your turn to help someone CONNECT! Are you in?

Thanks for your help in advanced.

Groups Fall Launch • Week of Sept. 11

GROUPS @ UBC

Leading a group….
doesn’t mean you have to know everything about the Bible
and it doesn’t mean that you have to live a perfect life

But it does mean that…
you have a desire to learn more about what the Bible has to say
and you enjoy discussing real-life issues with real-life people

Ever thought of leading a Group? If so, we’d love to hear from you. We believe people grow best doing life together, so we have all kinds of groups. Groups for women, men, couples, college students, singles and even groups that share common interests like volleyball and ultimate frisbee. All of our Groups are friendly gatherings designed to meet the spiritual and social needs of our UBC family. Groups will launch early September, but we need YOU to help us lead God’s people. Are you up to the challenge? If so, contact us at groups@ubcmiami.org or call 305-448-4425 xt. 250
