We are almost there. It’s been a long journey, well, because the Big Story is actually a BIG STORY! But the Big Story is made up of many small stories, and some of these stories include you and me…the Church. This is what the book of Acts is all about. It’s the start of our part of the story, the beginnings of the Church and lays a foundation for how God’s people, the ones He has desired to be His very own who will choose to know and love Him freely, follow Him fully and reign with Him forever, will share God with the world. As you prepare, pray for those who are serving and for each who will sit in one of the seats this weekend.

So for the past 7 weeks we’ve been learning about how God desires a people of His very own who will choose to know and love Him freely, follow Him fully and reign with Him forever. We’ve seen how God would basically do anything to make that dream come true. He’s used prophets and priests and kings to help guide His people back to relationship with Him, but it still seems that the dream has not been fulfilled. So what does God do? He sends a prophet, priest and king all in one, in the form of His very own Son, Jesus. That’s some good news! How does that news change the way you live and face the world of today? Does it? That’s what we’re going to talk about this week as we continue with The Big Story.

We all have times when we could use a well timed outside voice to help us on our way. God knows this and sends people into our lives at just the right time. We’ll be exploring this as we continue in The Big Story this week!
And here’s a solid piece of advice for all of us…be sure to set your clock forward before you go to sleep tonight. It’s Spring Forward weekend! So come this weekend, set your clock, be on time, and bring a friend. You could be the very person God has placed in their life for a time such as right now.

UBC Drama Team Visits Agape Family Ministries
February 26th found the UBC Drama Team bringing the Love. The love of Christ, that is, to the Agape Woman’s Prison Ministry in Goulds. The team performed for the women a replay of the Christmas piece read for the UBC congregation last 17th and 18th of December. The piece was augmented by the rest of team proclaiming God’s word, set to music, live guitar and violin. The performance was topped off by the personal testimony of our own “Miracle Montye” Barker and her miraculous three month hospital ordeal. God was clearly on board. The women were touched by His word and we were touched by these amazing women. The sweet words of the Lord were followed by home made baked goods brought by the team to share with the women and their children.
This was the third trip to Agape by the UBC team and it never fails to touch our hearts.
Amazing Grace.

Well, you’re not alone, we all have been there at some point in our lives and guess what, the God who created the universe specializes in setting people free. He loves us so much and wants us to be free. He wants to meet you in wherever you are, enter in to whatever chains are binding you and with his ferocious love and power, set you free. This week in The Big Story we see where God has done it before so that we might believe He would do it again. May chains be broken and lives be healed this weekend!

Thursday Vocals and Easter Choir News!
Starting in March (that’s March 1), Thursday nights will be only for rehearsing the weekend music for THAT week. Because of Easter choir prep, we will move to Sunday rehearsals from 2-3, beginning Sunday, February 26. We will meet in the Chapel. In a snapshot:
This week… Thursday, February 23 - 7pm: regular vocal rehearsal for all Sunday, February 26 - 2pm: Easter vocal rehearsal for all Then beginning March 1 through Easter… Thursdays, 7pm: weekend vocal rehearsal only Sundays, 2pm: Easter vocal rehearsal for allSo, spread the word! We have some great things planned for Easter weekend… and just maybe an encore choir participation a few weeks following Easter… when we talk about worship in heaven. Yes, I’m serious!
So I’ll see you there. His kingdom come and His will be done.

We had a great kickoff to our new series “The Big Story.” Way to bring your hearts to worship! We worshipped and gave praise to Holy God, the Creator of the Universe and Creator of you and I. We learned that God has a dream…He desires a people of His very own who will choose to know and love Him freely, follow Him fully and reign with Him forever. We are here because God loves us and wants us here.
This week, on our 10-week journey through the Bible, we come to Genesis Chapter 2. In chapter 2 we find God culminating 6 days of creation, writing us into the story. We’ll be worshipping God, thanking Him for His love. We’ll also be learning a new song that we’ll be singing at times throughout this series, so again, I’d encourage you to be on time so you can experience all that God has for us this weekend.
