The Environmental Protection Agency claims the average American produces about 4.4 pounds of garbage a day, 29 pounds per week & 1,600 pounds a year. No, we’re not trying to make you feel guilty. In fact, Americans are not the #1 garbage producer in the world…

But consumer culture makes it all too easy to take the priceless & treat it as if it were meant merely to be used up then thrown on the trash heap. In our new series we let God’s Word teach us how to treasure what truly matters & show that family, marriage, our bodies, time & income are so much more than Disposable.

» Special Discoveries

Our mission in Special Discoveries is to help every child with special needs to discover God’s truths in a loving, caring, and safe environment that encourages and strengthens families.

Class Options A Special Discoveries class is available Sunday at 11:00 a.m. Children with special needs can also be paired with a mentor leader & mainstreamed into a class on Saturday at 6:00p or Sunday at 9:30a.

Registering your child
-Step 1: Pick up a registration packet at the kiosk in the breezeway or download forms online here.
-Step 2: Complete and submit forms.
-Step 3: Our Special Discoveries Coordinator will schedule a meeting with you. This is a time for us to get to know your family, for you to get to know the Special Discoveries ministry, and to partner together to determine the best class option for your child.

Serve

Special Discoveries Teachers: The volunteers are trained to serve as teachers during the 11:00 am class. These teachers have a servant’s heart for special needs kids and desire to spend time with them by sharing God’s love.
(Age requirement: 18 and up)

Mentors: These volunteers are paired one-on-one with each special needs child and give them the individual attention they need.
(Age requirement: High-school students and up)

*All volunteers must go through the application process and training.

discovery-land.gif Discovery Land is a fun, safe and age-appropriate environment for babies through pre-K.

highway-252.gif Highway 252 is where the Bible comes alive and is made personal for elementary-age children.

famjamz FAMJAMZ is where elementary-age kids take their parents to learn about character and faith in a group environment.
